Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Training in Krav Maga

MALEFICENT Hollywood PremiereNewlyweds Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are collectively dubbed Brangelina, have reportedly become the newest Hollywood A-list celebrities to practice Krav Maga.

Apparently, Pitt and Jolie are doing Krav Maga workouts in preparation for their upcoming film, “By The Sea.” They are filming the movie, which is about a couple making their way through a difficult marriage, in Malta, a Mediterranean island.

The new film, which is written and directed by Jolie, is the first time the couple will appear in a movie together since 2005, when they became a couple while filming “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” In “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” Pitt and Jolie showed off some hand-to-hand combat moves. However, these moves were not ones affiliated with Krav Maga.

Mail Online reports that Pitt, who starred in the 1999 film, “Fight Club,” is new to Krav Maga. However, Jolie, on the other hand, first became familiar with Krav Maga while working on “Tomb Raider” in 2001.

Reportedly, the couple is doing Krav Maga workouts for 45 minutes each day, which has caused Pitt to lose ten pounds in just three weeks. They are also apparently allowing their six children, who are between the ages of six and thirteen, to learn and practice some modified military combat moves with them.

Krav Maga lately has become a very popular form of martial arts in Hollywood. Daniel Craig, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jason Statham all have trained in Krav Maga to prepare for various physically demanding roles.

Krav Maga is a system developed by the IDF that focuses on real-world situations and emphasizes neutralizing threats and simultaneous offensive and defensive moves. Imi Lichtenfeld, a Hungarian immigrant, first introduced Krav Maga, which has been taught and continually developed in Israel since the 1940’s.
